Maybe because I didn't have very high expectations, I was pleasantly surprised by my first Glossybox.* This month's box is designed by the beauty blogger Linda Hallberg. It is in a dark purple shade with a pink planet on it - something that perfectly matches my interior, so I have put it up on a shelf! :)
As a very light user of beauty and make-up products, I was sceptical to the idea of having five random cosmetic items coming in my inbox every month. When I think about it, that is probably the only way to make me buy and try different make-up brands. I still don't know if that would be as good of a deal in the long run, but I can say that I am definitely going to use four out of five products in this month's box.
My mascara had just finished, so I got a new one. Nail coat, dusch gel and a cherry lipstick (which by the way smells amazing) are stuff that you always need. The only thing that I will not use is the eye shadow primer, for the simple reason that I never use eye shadows. Mascara is my only make up of choice when it comes to my eyes - nothing else looks good on me. So this last product goes straight to my sister who can pull off the smokey eye like no one else.
All in all, what I like most is the surprise moment and the feeling as though you are unboxing a fancy present to yourself. A while ago I tried another service - Testagram, which focused mostly on food and items for daily use. After a few boxes the quality dropped and the price went up due to high shipping and handling costs, so I no longer saw the value in it. Testagram was however in a start-up phase back then while Glossybox* is very established both in Sweden and internationally, so I hope they will keep up the good work!
